Coir Poles - Perfect for Climbers!

Add a moss pole to your pot and help your climbing plant reach new heights.

Plant Moss Pole

Moss poles for plants are essential for climbing plants and the perfect way to give your plant some height. A plant moss pole is great for Monstera, Pothos and many other climbing houseplants.

Moss Pole

A moss pole gives climbing houseplants something to grip and grow up. Monstera, pothos, philodendron and syngonium all climb trees in the wild, and with a pole to hold onto they grow upwards and push out bigger, more mature leaves.

Our moss poles for plants range from 45cm totems for young plants to 120cm and 160cm poles for established climbers. We also stock bendy coir poles, extendable poles you can add to as your plant grows, and mossing pins to hold stems against the pole.

Moss pole for monstera

A monstera, or Swiss cheese plant, is the classic moss pole plant. Without support it sprawls sideways; on a pole it grows tall and its leaves get larger and more split. Choose a pole roughly as tall as you want the plant to grow, or an extendable pole if it is still young.

How to fit a moss pole

  1. Push the pole into the pot close to the main stem, down to the bottom of the pot. Repotting is the easiest time to do this.
  2. Turn the plant so its aerial roots face the pole.
  3. Fix the stems to the pole with mossing pins or soft plant clips.
  4. Mist a moss pole now and then so the aerial roots can grow into it.
