            Pothos Light Requirements

Pothos plants thrive in bright, indirect light. The ideal place for your pothos plant is near a window where it can receive filtered sunlight.

Avoid exposing the pothos plant to direct sunlight, this can scorch the leaves.

If you notice that the leaves are turning yellow or pale, it may be an indication that the plant is receiving too much light, in which case, try moving it to a slightly less bright spot.

            Pothos Watering

Pothos plants prefer slightly moist soil. How often to water pothos depends on the environment they are homed in. You should water your pothos when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch. Be careful not to overwater your Devils Ivy plant, as this can lead to root rot.

            Pothos Humidity

It's also a good idea to provide some humidity for your pothos plant, especially during the dry winter months.

You can mist the leaves with water or place a tray of clay pebbles and water near the plant to increase humidity.

It's also beneficial to mist their leaves with houseplant myst which will not only help with humidity but add nutrients that will enhance the growth of your pothos.

            Temperature for Pothos

Fortunately, pothos plants thrive in average room temperatures between 65-85°F (18-29°C). They are very adaptable to different environments, but it's best to avoid extreme temperature fluctuations and drafts.

It is a good idea to keep your pothos away from cold drafts and air conditioning vents, which will cause temperature fluctuations.

            Pothos Soil

Pothos require a well-draining potting mix. A mix of moss, perlite, and vermiculite works well. Houseplant focus repotting mix makes a great pothos plant soil.

You can also add some organic matter, such as compost, to enrich the soil, which will help your Devils Ivy plant to grow.

            Pothos Fertiliser

Getting the right plant food for pothos plants is also very important. Pothos plants can be very quick growers. To enable this growth, you should fertilize your pothos plant every 2-4 weeks during the growing season.

A balanced, water-soluble fertilizer is ideal. Houseplant focus fertiliser is a great pothos plant food.

            Prune a Pothos

Pothos plant pruning helps promote bushier growth and prevents it from becoming leggy.

Pruning a leggy pothos is easy, trim back any long, trailing stems to help maintain a compact shape.

            Pothos Pests

Pothos plants are generally resistant to pests, but they can occasionally attract mealybugs, spider mites, and aphids. Regularly inspect your pothos plant for any signs of pests to catch and treat them early.

If you notice any signs of infestation, such as webbing or tiny insects, treat the plant with an appropriate treatement. SB plant invigorator and bug killer is a great way to eliminate pests and encourage growth.

            Pothos Plant Support

With the right conditions, pothos plants can grow quite quickly. As they grow, being a vining and climbing plant, they often benefit from support. A moss pole is a great way to prevent their vines from trailing or drooping. You can use plant support stakes too, however, a moss pole is a more robust way to provide support and train the plant to grow in the desired direction.
