Croton - Codiaeum variegatum 'Mrs. Iceton' - Height 60-70cm - ⌀19cm

The Codiaeum Iceton is known for its changing appearance. The leaves start out with a very light yellow colour slowly changing into a deep, dark green with red accents.

The bottom leaves are typically darker than those at the top of the plants. It is this blend of colour and tone that gives the plant it's striking appearance.

This beautiful, large plant originates from Australasia, where it is commonly found in Malaysia, Australia and Indonesia. In its natural habitat, this plant can grow to quite a large size, getting as big as three metres tall. In the UK, this growth is more limited, with the climate meaning Codiaeum Iceton grows to the perfect size for it to fit nicely in a living room. 

Care
Place the Codiaeum in a sunny spot. It needs at least five hours of sun a day. A position near a window facing north east or west is ideal.

If the plant is placed near a south-facing window, it is recommended to place the plant two feet from the window to prevent the plant from getting too much direct sunlight. However, with too little light, the leaves may fall off or lose their beautiful color.

Croton Mrs Iceton prefers a consisten temperature, with fluctuating temperatures causing the plant to lose its leaves. This plant does not like a drafty environment.

Water the plant sufficiently: Preferably three to four times a week in summer and once every five days in winter. The root ball should not dry out.

Spray the Croton Iceton with water preferably once a week to remove dust from the leaves and to prevent pests.

Be careful, as this houseplant is mildly toxic to pets. 

Size
The plant has a height of 60-70cm upon delivery, measured including the nursery pot. The plant is supplied in a nursery pot with a diameter of 19cm.
