The Dracaena, also known as the dragon tree, is a tropical plant native to Africa and Asia. The name comes from the Greek word drakaina, meaning “female dragon.” With its strong, dark green leaves – often decorated with white or light green stripes – the Dracaena has a bold yet elegant appearance: a real eye-catcher in any interior. It is also one of the easiest houseplants to care for. It requires little water and grows steadily. Perfect for anyone looking for a stylish, low-maintenance plant for home or office.

Care
The Dracaena does very well in a spot in the (semi-) shade. Also this plant does not need a lot of water. Only water the plant when the soil feels dry. Too much water can cause root rot. This can be recognized by the leaves: brown spots with yellow edges will appear here. Should this happen, it is advised to give less water and remove the brown leaves. When the plant is wet for a longer period, the roots may rot and then it is difficult to save the plant. In winter, the plant needs even less water than in summer. When in doubt, rather water a little too little than too much. Pruning is not necessary, but can be done in the fall to keep the plant compact.

Size
The plant has a height of 60-70cm upon delivery, measured including the nursery pot. The plant is supplied in a nursery pot with a diameter of 17cm.
