Skimmia Japonica Rubella originates from East Asia. The plant is very popular with many people because of its long lasting and beautiful abundant flowering time, from September to March with beautiful red flower bunches and then in April and May with light pink flowers. The branches can be used in flower arrangements or Christmas pieces, the red flower clusters are very beautiful in combination with the green leaves. The beautiful flowers of the Skimmia provide ornamental value in autumn, winter and spring! The Skimmia Rubella is a compact garden plant and therefore very suitable for smaller borders and ornamental pots.
Care The Skimmia does not need special care. It prefers an acid soil and a place in the garden in semi-shade. Give it some extra garden peat to maintain the acidic soil environment, which will give it its beautiful, dark green leaves each spring. Don't prune a Skimmia all the way back, as it is unlikely to survive. It is best to prune a Skimmia back by half. This will prevent the Skimmia from dying off. Skimmia is hardy and can eventually reach a height of about 1 meter and a width of 1 meter.
Size The plants have a height of 35-45cm upon delivery, measured including the nursery pot. The plants are supplied in a nursery pot with a diameter of 15cm.
