Dicksonia antarctica, commonly known as the New Zealand Tree Fern, is native to Eastern Australia and Tasmania. Despite its common name, it is not from New Zealand. In its natural habitat, it grows in humid, shaded forests, forming a thick, fibrous trunk and arching fronds. Adapted to consistently moist, sheltered conditions, it thrives in both indoor and protected outdoor environments, creating a lush, tropical aesthetic with its dramatic foliage.

Growing & Care

Semi shady spot to bright indirect light. Allow the top 2 inches of the soil to dry out between waters, using room temperature water.
