The Norfolk Island pine (Araucaria heterophylla) is a handsome indoor tree with symmetrical tiers of soft, feathery needles. Despite its name it isn't a true pine, and it's increasingly popular as a living Christmas tree that you can enjoy all year round.

Give it bright, indirect light and turn the pot occasionally so it grows evenly. Keep the soil lightly moist and mist in centrally heated rooms.
