Big house plants for every room

Kentia palms cope with lower light, so they suit hallways and north-facing rooms. Bird of paradise, yuccas and weeping figs want a bright spot near a window, and a fiddle leaf fig or large bonsai tree makes a striking centrepiece. Each product page shows the Pot Diameter, and the height where we have it, so you know how big your plant will arrive.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best large indoor plant for beginners?
Snake plants, ZZ plants, rubber plants and kentia palms are among the easiest large indoor plants. They are tough, slow-growing and forgiving.
Which large indoor plants cope with low light?
ZZ plants, snake plants, kentia palms and dracaenas tolerate lower light better than most large plants, though they all grow best with some indirect daylight.
How often should I water a large indoor plant?
Large plants in big pots dry out more slowly. Check the compost a few centimetres down and water thoroughly only when it is dry.
Where should I put a large indoor plant?
Place it in a bright corner, near but not directly against a window, and away from radiators and cold draughts. Rotate it occasionally so it grows evenly.
