Platycerium ‘Superbum’, commonly known as the Giant Staghorn Fern, is a spectacular epiphytic fern native to the rainforests of Australia. In the wild, it grows attached to trees, absorbing moisture and nutrients from the surrounding environment. It is admired for its enormous antler-shaped fronds and large shield fronds that form a dramatic sculptural display as the plant matures. Thriving in warm, humid conditions with filtered light, it is often mounted or displayed hanging to showcase its impressive form.

Growing & Care

Semi shady spot to bright indirect light. Allow half of the soil to dry out between waters, using room temperature water. Avoid watering the centre nest as the can cause the plant to rot. Medium to high humidity. A balanced houseplant fertiliser. Left to grow, expect a spread of Up to 2.5 m wide and a height of Up 2.5 m tall with time.
