Planting the Seed - About Us

Let's tell you about us and the story of how Small Indoor Plants began. Small Indoor Plants started as a hobby. It all started while we redecorated our home together, with a backdrop of jazz music.

With our creativity in full swing, looking for some fresh ways to complement our paint and paper, we decided to find houseplants to accessorise our living space.

They were perfect to sit on our newly hung shelves and freshly painted window ledges. Our cat seemed quite happy about us creating a miniature jungle for him too and it was a great way to add some greenery inside our home. One of the first plants we added was a spider plant.

Realising the Benefits of Small Indoor Plants

The benefits of indoor plants were something we immediately realised, we loved the natural feel it gave to our living space. We also found ourselves feeling calmer, but also loved the excitement of finding and adding new plants with interesting leaf patterns or flowers to our collection.

Caring for our houseplants and learning all about them and their natural habitats provided us with an interesting hobby and as our collection grew, we realised that we wanted to share our love of our Small Indoor Plants.

Being Inspired by Small Indoor Plants

We decided to set up smallindoorplants.co.uk to inspire others to embrace having plants indoors. A houseplant gifting platform seemed like the obvious way to share great plants on special occasions.

Plants make the perfect gift whether you are a novice or a veteran! A plant gift is the perfect way to introduce someone new to the hobby, which was a perfect fit for us as we set out our mission.

Our mission is to make indoor spaces greener and share the enjoyment and benefits that houseplants bring at home and work.
