Meet the Fenestraria rhopalophylla subsp. aurantiaca (Baby Toes)

Fenestraria rhopalophylla subsp. aurantiaca, commonly called Baby Toes, is a small, ground-hugging succulent native to the Cape Province of South Africa. It forms dense mats of pale grey-green, finger-like leaves with translucent “windows” on their tips that allow sunlight to penetrate for photosynthesis. During late summer to autumn, the plant produces daisy-like orange flowers, adding seasonal bursts of color. Its compact size, unusual leaf shape, and charming blooms make it a highly appealing addition to succulent collections and miniature gardens.
