Meet the Alocasia micholitziana 'Frydek'

Alocasia micholitziana is native to the tropical rainforests of the Philippines, where it grows in warm, humid conditions beneath the forest canopy. The cultivar ‘Frydek’ was first described in Europe in the early 1900s by German orchidologist Henry Frederick Conrad Sander, who named the species in honour of his friend and fellow plant collector, Wilhelm Micholitz. Prized for its velvety foliage and striking pale veining, this Alocasia has since become a classic favourite among tropical plant enthusiasts.

Growing & Care

Bright indirect light. Water when the top 2 inches of soil feels dry, using room temperature water. medium to high humidity. A balanced houseplant fertiliser. Left to grow, expect a spread of Up to 60-90 cm wide and a height of Up 60-90 cm tall with time.
