Meet the Alocasia micholitziana 'Frydek'

Alocasia micholitziana is native to the tropical rainforests of the Philippines, where it grows in warm, humid conditions beneath the forest canopy. The cultivar ‘Frydek’ was first described in Europe in the early 1900s by German orchidologist Henry Frederick Conrad Sander, who named the species in honour of his friend and fellow plant collector, Wilhelm Micholitz. Prized for its velvety foliage and striking pale veining, this Alocasia has since become a classic favourite among tropical plant enthusiasts.
