Meet the Curio rowleyanus (String of Beads)

Senecio rowleyanus var commonly known as String of beads, is a trailing succulent native to the arid regions of Southwest Africa. Part of the Asteraceae family, it naturally grows along the shaded forest floor beneath taller vegetation. Its small, circular, pea-like leaves store water, making it drought-resistant. Valued for its long, cascading stems and delicate white spring flowers, this variety is a popular ornamental plant for hanging displays and indoor collections worldwide.

Growing & Care

Bright warm spot with some direct sunlight hitting the top of the plant. Water when soil is completely dry, preferable from underneath so not to get the leaves wet. No humidity. A balanced houseplant fertiliser. Left to grow, expect a spread of Up to 60 - 100cm trailing and a height of Up to 10-15 cm above soil.

Repotting

Once every year or two.
