Meet the Euphorbia acrurensis (Desert Candle Cactus)

Euphorbia acrurensis is a striking succulent from the Euphorbia, native to the dry, arid regions of Africa, including Zimbabwe. Although often mistaken for a cactus due to its spiny appearance, euphorbias are technically succulents that have adapted to similar desert conditions. This species develops slender, ribbed green stems that branch as the plant matures, with small oval leaves and protective spines along the ridges. Over time it can grow into a tall, architectural plant reaching up to around 10 ft (3 m), although this may take 10–15 years to reach full size.

Growing & Care

Bright warm spot with some direct sunlight. Water when soil is completely dry. No humidity. A balanced houseplant fertiliser. Left to grow, expect a spread of Up to 60 cm wide and a height of 3 m in height.
