Hoya australis 'Blondie', also known as the Variegated Wax Plant, is a striking cultivar of Hoya australis, native to Australia. This variety is prized for its thick, glossy leaves with creamy-yellow variegation and soft green centres, often developing blush tones in bright light. Like other Hoyas, it grows as a trailing or climbing vine and can produce clusters of delicate, star-shaped, fragrant flowers when mature. Its bold colouring and easy-care nature make it a standout addition to any indoor plant collection.

Growing & Care

Bright warm spot. Some direct early morning or late afternoon sun is ok. Midday direct sunlight can cause the leaves to burn. An east or west facing window is best. Hoya can store water in their leaves so are somewhat drought tolerant. Water thoroughly but allow this plant to dry out half way between waterings. Can adapt well to normal household conditions but will enjoy some humidity. A balanced houseplant fertiliser. Left to grow, expect a spread of Up to 50 cm wide and a height of Up to 150 cm tall with time.

Repotting

Once every two years - doesn't mind being slightly root bound.

• Dark spots will cause legginess
